§ Mr. W. J. TaylorThe Queen's Flight at present consists of three Herons, two 109W Whirlwinds and one Chipmunk. The initial cost of these aircraft was about £420,000. The annual running and maintenance costs are about £225,000. Aircraft of the Queen's Flight may be used by senior Ministers and other important passengers, such as the Chiefs of Staff, when they are not needed by members of the Royal Family.
