§ Mr. Watkinsasked the Minister of Housing and Local Government and Minister for Welsh Affairs what is the nature of the survey being carried out by the Central Office of Information in Wales with regard to the tourist industry in the Principality; and whether the conclusions and recommendations will be made available to Members of Parliament.
§ Mr. BrookeThis survey which I have authorised, was asked for by the Council for Wales and Monmouthshire as a part of its investigation of the tourist industry. Its purpose is to collect detailed information about the reactions of holidaymakers to Wales and to assess the possibilities of increasing the tourist industry's contribution to the wellbeing of the country. I cannot of course commit the Council, but I have little doubt that, after the Council has had an opportunity to study the results of the survey, 83W it will be very ready to make them available to all those who are interested in this important subject.
