ButlerI received a letter last Thursday from the National Association of Fire Officers and the Fire Brigades Union asking me to receive a deputation at which representatives of these two bodies could put the arguments for setting up an independent committee to inquire into the manpower position and remuneration of the Fire Service. I am considering this request.
