Skehan, a prisoner at Parkhurst, Isle of Wight, to have such legal aid and other facilities as are necessary to pursue his claim for negligence against the solicitor responsible for his defence; and whether he will make a statement concerning Mr. Skehan's affidavit submitted to him by the hon. Member for Cardiff, West.
§ Mr. R. A. ButlerAs regards the first part of the Question, I am prepared to allow Skehan to consult a solicitor, or to apply for legal aid, in connection with his proposed action against his former solicitor. As regards the second part of the Question, the affidavit which the hon. Member submitted to my noble and learned Friend, the Lord Chancellor, and to me, has not disclosed any new point which would justify reconsideration of this prisoner's case.
