§ Mr. N. MacphersonYes. The Cotton Board have today announced that the aggregate capacity of the production units in respect of which they have accepted applications for compensation under the Cotton Finishing Woven Cloth and Yarn Processing Schemes have exceeded the minimum figures required for the Government contribution to become payable. The figures are as follows:
119WThe Government's contribution of two-thirds of the cost of compensation for eliminating excess capacity accordingly becomes payable as provided for in the relevant Schemes. Also, as I indicated in my reply to my hon. Friend the Member for Heywood and Royton (Mr. Leavey) on 20th December last, the re-equipment grants will be made available to the Finishing Sections of the Cotton Industry.
