§ 55. Mr. G. Thomasasked the Minister of Power what changes he has made in the membership of the South Wales Electricity Consultative Council; what are the qualifications of the new members; and what considerations led him to dispense with the services of the former members.
§ Mr. GeorgeDetails of the changes in membership are given in the Consultative Council's Annual Report. The numbers of members appointed, re-appointed and retired in the period since 1st April, 1960, are 2, 5 and 1, respectively. The qualifications for membership are laid down in Section 7 of the Electricity Act, 1947, as amended. The main consideration in determining whether a member should be re-appointed is his willingness and ability to continue service.
