Mr. Tilneyasked the Lord Privy Seal what further action Her Majesty's Government intend to take to bring up the pensions of former civil servants in the Sudan to the level of pensions under the United Kingdom Pensions (Increase) Act, 1959, now that the Sudan Government have decided not to pay any further increases.
§ Mr. HeathAs I told the House on 22nd February we have made a number of representations to the Sudan Government without success. In present circumstances I do not think we can usefully pursue the matter further.
