HC Deb 17 March 1961 vol 636 cc156-7W
Captain Orr

asked the Postmaster-General what changes he proposes in the membership of the Pilkington Committee on Broadcasting.

Mr. Bevins

I have received resignations from Mr. J. Megaw, following his appointment as High Court Judge; from Sir Jock Campbell, on health grounds; and from Mr. Peter Hall, due to unexpectedly heavy commitments. After consultation with my right hon. Friend the Prime Minister, I have invited Professor F. H. Newark, Professor of Jurisprudence at Queen's University, Belfast, to become a member of the Committee, and I am glad to say that he has accepted.
