§ 61. Viscount Hinchingbrookeasked the Chancellor of the Exchequer whether he will now consider abolishing restrictions on the amount of sterling which may be taken abroad.
§ Mr. BarberAs my noble Friend is aware, the only controls on expenditure on foreign travel now in force are those designed to prevent the illicit export of capital. The limit on the amount of sterling notes which can be taken out is directed to this purpose, but in common with other restrictions of this kind it is kept under review.
