Dr. Bennettasked the Minister of Transport what have been the findings of the inquiry into the collision on 13th May last between the British Railways motor-ship "Brading" and an Admiralty Yard craft in Portsmouth harbour which resulted in a fatal casualty; and, in particular, what has been the allocation of responsibility.
§ Mr. MarplesThe inquiry into the collision was a preliminary inquiry under Section 465 of the Merchant Shipping Act, 1894. The findings of this type of inquiry are not made public. I understand, however, that the Admiralty and the British Transport Commission have agreed to share between them the costs arising out of the casualty.
