HC Deb 13 March 1961 vol 636 c89W
Mr. Emery

asked the Minister of Pensions and National Insurance (1) how much of the allocation for the payment of benefits in justifiable claims by his Department was not cashed by the recipients in the years 1955, 1957 and 1959;

(2) how many claims which were allowed for maternity benefit were not cashed by recipients in the years 1955, 1957 and 1959.

Mr. Boyd-Carpenter

While I am afraid that precise statistical information is not available, I can say that the amounts involved are small.
