§ 42. Mr. Hector Hughesasked the Minister of Transport if he will make a statement indicating what progress Her Majesty's Government have made during the last year towards reaching identity of interest with the United States of America in combating flag discrimination.
§ Mr. MarplesI would refer the hon. Member to the Answer which I gave on 1st February to a Question from my hon. Friend the Member for Belfast, East (Mr. McMaster). These discussions with United States officials are strictly confidential. I think we have made some progress towards a mutual understanding of our various interests and problems.
