§ Mr. R. A. ButlerIt was announced on 14th February, 1946 that chief officers of police had been asked to arrange that proceedings would not be taken against anyone who surrendered by 31st March, 1946, firearms or ammunition illegally held. 75,996 weapons were surrendered by the latter date.
