asked Her Majesty's Government:

Whether they will give the approximate date of—

  1. (1) The completion of the roadworks and other reconstruction round Marble Arch;
  2. (2) The commencement of work on the proposed garage underneath Hyde Park.

LORD CHESHAM

Work on the Marble Arch section of the Park Lane Improvement Scheme is expected to be complete by about July next year. Work on the Hyde Park Underground garage will, I hope, begin well before then.
