asked the Postmaster-General how many applicants are waiting for telephones in the town of Reading; and how this number compares with the two previous years.

Mr. Bevins

There are 385 applicants waiting for telephones. The figures for 1959 and 1960 were 205 and 186 respectively. During the past twelve months, 1,571 telephones were installed.
