§ 56. Mr. P. Browneasked the Minister of Agriculture, Fisheries and Food if he will consider setting up an interdepartmental committee to examine the need for co-ordinating the food market, for limiting imports, by tariffs if necessary, and for operating effective antidumping measures, thus securing for British farmers an increased share of the home food market.
§ Mr. SoamesI am not persuaded that the present conditions of the food market are such as to warrant such a fundamental reappraisal of our agricultural support and trading policies as my hon. Friend suggests.
