§ 51. Miss Vickersasked the Lord Privy Seal what arrangements have been made for a visit by President Sukarno of the 6W Republic of Indonesia and some of his Ministers or officials to this country in the near future.
§ Mr. GodberIn April this year we invited President Sukarno to visit the United Kingdom; in principle he gladly accepted the invitation but unfortunately his existing programme did not permit him to come to the United Kingdom in 1961. It was agreed that further arrangements would be made in due course for a visit by President Sukarno to this country.
General Nasution, Minister of National Security in the Indonesian Government and Chief of Staff of the Indonesian Army, is to visit the United Kingdom from 3rd to 8th July. A number of invitations have also been issued to other Indonesian Ministers.
