HC Deb 05 June 1961 vol 641 c59W
78. Mr. Mayhew

asked the Chancellor of the Duchy of Lancaster what arrangements he is making to expand the British Broadcasting Corporation's transmissions to Africa.

Mr. Godber

I have been asked to reply.

The Government and the B.B.C. are in agreement that, apart from minor adjustments, the first consideration is not to expand the already large output to Africa but to make it more easily audible. We are discussing how this can be done.
