§ 85. Sir Richard Pilkingtonasked the Lord Privy Seal whether he will make a further statement about the detention of Dr. Cecil Scott in Portugal; and what arrangements are being made for his release.
§ 91. Mr. D. Footasked the Lord Privy Seal whether he has received any further report from Her Majesty's Ambassador at Lisbon regarding the detention in prison of Dr. Cecil Scott.
§ 93. Mr. Dugdaleasked the Lord Privy Seal whether he will make a further statement about the arrest and imprisonment of Dr. Scott by the Portuguese authorities.
§ Mr. HeathFurther representations have been made to the Portuguese authorities. I am advised however that under Portuguese law a person can be held without being charged for a considerable time. Dr. Scott is being properly treated and was visited by his wife on 25th and 28th July.
