§ 60. Mr. Nabarroasked the Chancellor of the Exchequer whether he has now had an opportunity to consider the 31st Annual Report of the Bank of International Settlements, and in particular the references contained therein to the tax structure in the United Kingdom which is shown to work against the growth of the high productivity industries; and whether he will undertake to consider the present heavy rates of taxation imposed on certain consumer durables before his next Budget, with a view to remedial action on the lines suggested by the bank.
