HL Deb 12 July 1961 vol 233 c268WA
LORD REA

asked Her Majesty's Government:

Whether, in view of the detrimental effect upon the trawler and trawler-building industries resulting from the absence of any indication of the Government's reaction to the Report of the Committee of Inquiry into the Fishing Industry, and from the uncertainty thereby caused, they will not make a statement.

EARL WALDEGRAVE

Her Majesty's Government are fully aware of the desirability of making an early announcement giving the Government's views on the recommendations contained in the Report of the Committee of Inquiry into the Fishing Industry. A statement will be made as soon as possible.

House adjourned at sixteen minutes past nine o'clock.
