§ Mr. Denzil FreethYes, and I am grateful to the hon. Member for drawing attention to this important matter of industrial design. One factor, which recent investigations by D.S.I.R. and others, have shown up, is a shortage of engineering designers. Government plans for expansion at universities and colleges of advanced technology include major increases in the facilities for training engineers. In addition D.S.I.R. is making substantial grants to encourage research and design development, in teaching institutions and in research associations, as well as conducting research in its own laboratories.22W dumping duties; and when these applications were received.
