Mr. Vane753 farm business plans had been approved in Somerset under the Small Farmer Scheme up to 30th June, 1961. Most of the plans include work which will attract one or more field husbandry grants, but it would involve a disproportionate amount of time and labour to obtain a figure for the total number of individual grants. The sum total of grants which these plans will earn when completed is about £494,000 of which some £298,000 will be for field husbandry operations. So far £191,532 has been paid in grants, of which £88,887 is for field husbandry operations.
