§ Sir D. EcclesThe numbers of entrants to maintained and direct grant 131W grammar schools were 147,000 in 1958 and 142,000 in 1959. For the years 1960 to 1962 I estimate these numbers approximately, as 130,000, 125,000 and 120,000.
