§ Mrs. Cullenasked the Minister of Pensions and National Insurance the additional cost of granting a war widow's pension in the case where there is entitlement already to a National Insurance widow's pension which has to be surrendered.
§ Mr. Boyd-CarpenterThe cost to the Exchequer of awarding a war pension to the widow of a private soldier would be 76s. a week. It is not possible to estimate what might be the saving to the National Insurance Fund if war widow's pensions were awarded in cases now dealt with under the National Insurance Scheme.
