§ 50. Sir J. Vaughan-Morganasked the Prime Minister whether, in view of the importance of the question of immigration to this country from the Commonwealth, he will propose that the Prime Minister of the West Indies Federation should be invited to attend the forthcoming Prime Ministers' Conference.
§ The Prime MinisterNo. Since the West Indies Federation is not yet independent, it would not be appropriate to invite the Prime Minister of the Federation to the Conference; such an invitation would in any case require the general agreement of all the Prime Ministers. Her Majesty's Government are, of course, in constant touch with the West Indies Governments about the problems of immigration.
