§ Mr. Stonehouseasked the Secretary of State for the Colonies what measures he is taking to developing secondary industries in Fiji; and whether he will consider setting-up a Fiji Development Corporation to stimulate industrial and agricultural development.
§ Mr. H. FraserThere is an Agricultural and Industrial Loan Board which provides finance far suitable undertakings, and a Fiji Development Corporation has been established as a subsidiary of the Colonial Development Corporation. Steps are being taken to establish a Land Development Authority in which it is hoped the Colonial Development Corporation, the Loans Board, and private enterprise will participate.
