HC Deb 30 January 1961 vol 633 cc93-4W
Mr. Fell

asked the Minister of Transport whether, in view of the fact that the Cunard Company is planning a very substantial expenditure of several million pounds on aircraft, he is still satisfied with Her Majesty's Government's policy of granting a £20 million subsidy to this company; and if he will make a statement.

Mr. Marples:

The considerations which led the Government to decide to help the Cunard Company in the replacement of "Queen Mary" still hold good. There is no question of a £20 million subsidy.
