87. Mr. Pavitt

asked the Minister of Health, in view of the unsatisfactory functioning of Committee B of the Medical Whitley Council, what steps he is taking, in the light of the recommendations of the Royal Commission on Doctors' and Dentists' Pay, to review the constitution and machinery of the Council; and if he will make a statement.

Mr. Powell:

The Royal Commission recommended that the two sides of Committee B should consider jointly what action might be taken to improve its procedures. They have done so and have agreed on a number of changes.
