§ Mr. Sydney Irvingasked the Minister of Housing and Local Government and Minister for Welsh Affairs, in view of the unsatisfactory position revealed by recent cases before the courts which have excluded local authorities from appealing under Section 275 (1) of the Highways Act, 1959, as being persons aggrieved, what steps he proposes to take to introduce amending legislation.
§ Mr. BrookeThe extension of rights of appeal in this way was considered by the Committee on the Consolidation of Highway Law, which however did not propose amendment of the law. Since then I have not had sufficient evidence to justify an amendment.
