HC Deb 24 February 1961 vol 635 c84W
Dr. Thompson

asked the Secretary of State for Scotland what is the nature of the protests he has received about the Dunfermline Maternity Home; and whether he will institute an immediate inquiry.

Mr. Maclay

The only protest I have received was on 22nd February from the hon. Member for Fife, West (Mr. W. Hamilton) who complained generally about conditions in the hospital, and inquiries are being made. I know, however, that the regional hospital board accepts that there is a need to provide additional maternity accommodation for Fife, and intends to do so as soon as the competing claims on its resources allow.
