Dr. Thompsonasked the Secretary of State for Scotland what is the nature of the protests he has received about the Dunfermline Maternity Home; and whether he will institute an immediate inquiry.
§ Mr. MaclayThe only protest I have received was on 22nd February from the hon. Member for Fife, West (Mr. W. Hamilton) who complained generally about conditions in the hospital, and inquiries are being made. I know, however, that the regional hospital board accepts that there is a need to provide additional maternity accommodation for Fife, and intends to do so as soon as the competing claims on its resources allow.
