HC Deb 23 February 1961 vol 635 c73W
67. Brigadier Clarke

asked the Secretary of State for the Home Department how many women who were murdered during the twelve months ended 20th February, 1961, were pregnant at the time they were murdered.

Mr. R. A. Butler

I regret that this information is not available.

Brigadier Clarke

asked the Secretary of State for the Home Department in how many cases, during each of the past 10 years, in which women died through strangulation it was subsequently established that the killer was asleep at the time the offence was committed.

Mr. R. A. Butler

I know of no such case other than the one recently tried at the Essex Assizes.
