HC Deb 21 February 1961 vol 635 c43W
93. Mr. John MacLeod

asked the Secretary of State for Scotland whether he will request the Guest Committee, who are at present examining the Scottish licensing law, to include in their remit the question of the lack of competition in the State-controlled area of Invergordon.

Mr. Maclay

No. In my view the question of State management is not one which it would be useful to refer to a committee of inquiry of this kind since in general the facts relating to it are clear and opinions about it are well known.
