17. Mr. Hilton

asked the Chancellor of the Exchequer, in view of the hardship caused to farmers in drainage areas by a reassessment for Schedule A, and consequently for drainage rates, of their land solely because of an alteration to their buildings, if he will in future reassess only the buildings in such cases.

I understand that my right hon. Friend the Minister of Agriculture hopes to move a new Clause on the recommittal of the Land Drainage Bill to meet this point.
