77. Mr. Biggs-Davison

asked the Secretary of State for Commonwealth Relations what clarification he has received from the Ghana Government about the union or association of Guinea and Mali with Ghana, being a Commonwealth country.

Mr. Sandys:

A joint communique by the three Governments concerned, issued on 28th December, 1960, announced that the three countries had decided to establish a union and to promote a common economic and monetary policy. I have so far no further information as to what is intended.
