HC Deb 17 February 1961 vol 634 c168W
Dame Irene Ward

asked the Secretary of State for Commonwealth Relations what help the United Kingdom Government has offered to the Government of India in connection with the problem of the Tibetan refugees.

Mr. Sandys:

Her Majesty's Government has offered the Government of India a donation of £50,000 towards the resettlement of these refugees. The Government of India have accepted this offer and, I understand, are proposing to use the money towards the cost of a scheme for resettling some of the refugees as agriculturists in the State of Mysore.
