Mr. Sorensenasked the Secretary of State for the Home Department how many of the 2,150 prosecutions for indecency in the Metropolitan Police area in 1960 and the 1,800 suspected cases for which proceedings were not taken, involved both sexes; how many of the 2,150 pleaded not guilty and were discharged; how many of the 1,800 protested their innocence; how many of the cases concerned prostitutes; and whether suitable warnings in future will be given to persons suspected of indecency, but against whom proceedings are not taken.
§ Mr. Renton:This information is not recorded centrally, and to obtain these details would involve analysing the entries in the charge books at over 170 police stations. I will write to the hon. Member.
