100. Mr. Marquand

asked the Secretary of State for the Colonies whether he will make a statement on the results of the recent elections in Dominica; and if he will give the names and offices of the members of the new Government.

Mr. Iain Macleod:

A general election was held in Dominica on 17th January. All eleven seats were contested. Seven were won by the Dominica Labour Party; three by the Dominica United People's Party; and one by an independent candidate.

The new Government consists of:

Mr. E. O. Le Blanc as Chief Minister;

Mr. N. A. N. Ducreay as Minister for Trade and Production;

Mr. W. S. Stevens as Minister for Labour and Social Services;

Mr. L. C. Didier as Minister for Communications and Works; and

Mr. R. P. St. Luce as Member without Portfolio
