HC Deb 14 February 1961 vol 634 c134W
Captain Kerby

asked the Secretary of State for the Colonies whether, in view of the continuing terrorism, subversion and intimidation in Kenya, Uganda, Northern Rhodesia and Nyasaland, he will consult the Governors of those territories with a view to the introduction of further measures to combat these activities.

Mr. Iain Macleod:

I am satisfied that the Governors have adequate powers to maintain law and order and I am, of course, in continuous touch with them on the best means of dealing with threats to public security of any kind.
