HC Deb 14 February 1961 vol 634 c140W
Mr. Nabarro

asked the Chancellor of the Exchequer what estimate he has made of increased industrial productivity and production, or otherwise, in the first 10 months of the current financial year 1960–61, and the effect upon the economy.

Mr. Selwyn Lloyd:

The figures are available up to November, 1960. The average index of production for the first eight months of the financial year 1960–61 was 6 per cent. higher than the average for the same period of the previous financial year. But there has been a pause in expansion since the spring of 1960.
