HC Deb 14 February 1961 vol 634 c127W
61. Dame Irene Ward

asked the Minister of Housing and Local Government and Minister for Welsh Affairs if he is aware that publication by the local authority of the plan for the redevelopment of Gosforth has caused public anxiety and a fall in property values; and if he will give an undertaking that he will not approve the redevelopment as proposed.

Sir K. Joseph:

Planning proposals do affect property values, but my right hon. Friend has no current evidence relating to Gosforth. As I stated in reply to a Question by my hon. Friend on 31st January, there is no plan for the redevelopment of Gosforth before my right hon. Friend; if one were submitted, by the county council, it would be considered on its merits and in the light of any objections.
