HC Deb 09 February 1961 vol 634 c77W
4. Mr. Gower

asked the Chancellor of the Exchequer if he will give the latest available particulars of the numbers of people paying Schedule A tax; and by how many this number has increased since 1951.

Sir E. Boyle:

I regret that the information is not available to make this comparison.

5. Mr. Gower

asked the Chancellor of the Exchequer how many owner-occupiers and how many other property owners paid Schedule A tax in 1960; and what was the total amount of such tax paid by each category.

Sir E. Boyle:

I regret that this information is not available.

Mr. Millan

asked the Chancellor of the Exchequer how the new valuations for rating in Scotland, effective from 1961–62, will affect valuations for Schedule A Income Tax.

Sir E. Boyle:

The new rating valuations in Scotland will not affect Schedule A assessments in the absence of Finance Bill legislation providing for a Schedule A revaluation.
