asked the Prime Minister if he is now in a position to announce the membership of the Committee of Inquiry into Higher Education.

The Prime Minister:

Yes. On 20th December last, in reply to the hon. Lady the Member for Flint, East (Mrs. White), I announced the terms of reference of this Committee and said that Lord Robbins had accepted the chairmanship. I am now glad to be able to announce that the following have accepted my invitation to serve on the Committee:
