§ Mr. R. A. Butler:The organisations responsible for the welfare and aftercare of prisoners regard it as an important part of their functions to advise and assist the wives and dependants of prisoners during their imprisonment. They work in close co-operation with the State and local authority welfare services and with other voluntary organisations.
