§ Mr. Boyd-Carpenter:For men, the total contribution payable in 1948 was 6. 7 per cent. of their average earnings and the corresponding figure in October. 1960 was 6. 3 per cent. For women, these proportions were respectively 9. 6 per cent. and 9. 9 per cent. The figures include the contributions for industrial injuries and to the National Health Service.
