§ 51. Mr. J. § Mr. Powell:Adequate facilities for the clinical investigation of these conditions are already available at National Health Service hospitals.
§ 52. Mr. Hyndasked the Minister of Health, as representing the Minister for Science, what progress has been made in the investigations into the relationship between the physical and chemical nature of the constituents of polluted air and morbidity and mortality, with special reference to cancer.
§ Mr. Powell:Investigations to date suggest that air pollution is associated with respiratory diseases and lung cancer, but a causal relationship has not been established.
