HC Deb 02 February 1961 vol 633 c143W
27. Mr. Willey

asked the President of the Board of Trade whether he will make a statement on the recent visit of his Parliamentary Secretary to Sunderland.

Mr. Maudling

While in Sunderland my hon. Friend held discussions with the local authorities and others, inspected a number of sites where factory construction was taking place and generally informed himself on the employment problems of the area. The Board of Trade are well aware of Sunderland's need for new industry and will continue their efforts to encourage firms to go there.
