§ 94. Mr. N. Doddsasked the Secretary of State for Air if he will make a statement about the action of the Royal Air Force Security Branch in taking possession of two electric motors from a Reading shop, which were purchased at an auction sale of Government surplus stock; and what compensation is to be paid to the shopkeeper.
§ Mr. J. Amery:The shopkeeper, Mr. M. J. Milne, allowed Royal Air Force police to take possession of these motors after we had received a report which suggested that equipment with a restricted security classification was on sale. The motors proved to have no classification of this kind and have been handed back. The question of payment does not therefore arise, but we are grateful to Mr. Milne for his co-operation.
