HC Deb 21 December 1961 vol 651 cc194-5W
Mr. W. Hamilton

asked the Secretary of State for Scotland why there has been an increase to £17,170,000 in the price guarantee relating to fatstock and to what extent the consumer will benefit from this additional expenditure.

Mr. Maclay

The supplementary estimate of £9.43 million required to implement the livestock guarantees in Scotland (in addition to the £7.74 million already provided for this purpose) forms part of the total required for the United Kingdom of £66.8 million, to which my right hon. Friend the Minister of Agriculture, Fisheries and Food made reference in his reply to Questions on 14th December, and I would refer the hon. Member to that reply.
