HC Deb 21 December 1961 vol 651 cc199-200W
Mr. Hayman

asked the Minister of Labour how many men, women and young people, respectively, were recorded as insured persons at each of the

INSURED EMPLOYEES AT FALMOUTH AND CAMBORNE-REDRUTH
Falmouth Camborne-Redruth
Males Females Males Females
End-May, 1956 7,550 2,590 10,870 4,630
End-May, 1957 7,830 2,570 10,820 4,410
End-May, 1958 7,970 2,550 10,150 4,210
End-May, 1959 7,220 2,580 10,990 4,490
End-May, 1960 6,820 2,670 10,810 4,510
Notes:
1. Figures of insured employees are collected only once a year in respect of end-May.
2. Separate figures for young people are available only for 1960.
3. Figures of insured employees are available only for the combined area of Camborne and Redruth.

regards the second part of the Question, the £2 17s. 6d. rate did not, of course, operate in 1960, but the extra cost for the current year of a £5 rate for retirement pensioners instead of £2 17s. 6d. would be about £500 million.
